Human Resources Manager
Location: Sioux Falls
Job Description:
The Human Resources Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting our fast-paced, service-driven organization. Based on site at our Sioux Falls call center, this role oversees day-to-day HR operations and leads a dedicated HR team supporting employee relations, investigations, total rewards, talent acquisition, onboarding, compliance, and more. The HR Manager partners closely with site leadership and the broader HR team to foster positive employee experience, ensure legal compliance, and support our performance-driven culture.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Oversight
- Directly supervise and develop an HR professionals responsible for core HR functions including employee relations, leaves of absence, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance reporting.
- Serve as an escalation point and provide guidance on complex employee relations matters and internal investigations.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Support a high-volume, hourly workforce with consistent, fair, and timely resolution of employee relations issues.
- Ensure compliance with all employment-related federal and state laws and internal policies, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, wage & hour, and workplace safety.
- Partner with external and internal legal/compliance teams when necessary to mitigate risk.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process for a high-volume, call center environment in partnership with internal hiring managers and HR staff.
- Ensure that new hire orientation and onboarding are consistent, engaging, and compliant.
Total Rewards & Leave Administration
- Oversee the administration of payroll, benefits, and leave programs in collaboration with the HR team member responsible for these areas.
- Ensure accurate tracking and handling of employee leaves including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and personal leaves.
Engagement, Culture & Strategic Partnership
- Act as a strategic partner to site leadership and the Senior Director of HR to support a positive, high-performance workplace culture aligned with company values.
- Collaborate with leaders to proactively identify workforce trends, morale issues, and engagement risks, and develop targeted strategies to address them.
- Support employee engagement and recognition programs aligned with our core values and mission.
- Partner with employee committees and engagement groups to enhance inclusion, well-being, and communication across all levels of the call center workforce.
- Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement through HR programs and leadership practices.
Education & Other Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a people leadership or HR business partner role.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing complex employee relations and conducting or directing sensitive workplace investigations.
- Experience supporting large hourly employee populations in a call center, service, or operationally intensive environment strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in a financial services, compliance-driven, or regulated environment is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent conflict resolution and investigation skills with a practical, balanced approach.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust with employees at all levels.
- Comfortable using HRIS systems and reporting tools (e.g., Paylocity, Namely, etc.).
Bonus points if you have:
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
- Prior experience in a financial service, regulated, or compliance-driven industry
