Job Description:
The Senior Portfolio Reporting Analyst will report to the Portfolio Manager within the Asset Management team.  This position is responsible for driving enhanced asset performance for both clients and invested capital, communicating with internal and external project stakeholders, and guiding less experienced data analysts. The Senior Portfolio Reporting Analyst will support a wide range of asset classes including Solar and Home Improvement Loans, Income Share Agreements, and Student Loans, and will monitor portfolio performance through trend analysis and profitability throughout the loan life cycle. A successful candidate will possess a unique blend of analytics, data visualization, and project management experience with a desire to work in a fast-paced changing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Mine and extract portfolio data using SQL and Azure ‘big data’ technologies, R/Python, and visualization tools like Excel and Tableau/Power BI (or similar tools)
  • Provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics
  • Efficiently implement and streamline reporting solutions to support business needs and to help drive operational efficiencies
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence (BI) to help maintain data integrity in systems; catch data anomalies and have a direct influence on data quality
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to provide transparency into portfolio performance incorporating enhancements and modifications based on client feedback and the current economic climate
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to better understand valuable objectives and KPIs and to design relevant reports and dashboards
  • Assist in implementing or developing systems to capture business operation information
  • Perform analysis and research to better understand portfolio dynamics, and then recommend and implement strategies to optimize returns
  • Effectively communicate trends and insights to senior leadership through monthly performance summaries and regular business reviews
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including Executive, Finance, Compliance, Servicing, Operations teams, and external Clients
  • Guide less experienced data analysts

Education & Other Minimum Requirements:
  • A data junkie identity with an inquisitive nature and a high “figure-it-out” quotient
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or similar quantitative field preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience as Data Analyst or Reporting Analyst
  • Highly proficient at Excel, and either SQL, SAS, python, or visualization tools like Tableau/PowerBI (or similar tools) for data analysis
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation-based communications skills
  • Able to work independently in a team environment without close supervision
  • Willingness to learn and use native cloud (Azure/AWS) tools for harvesting data and producing insights 
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, as well as attentiveness to details and a commitment to follow up
  • Ability to effectively manage several tasks in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines

Bonus point if you have:
  • Experience with pySpark and knowledge of ML frameworks and libraries
  • Experience working in consumer finance, banking, or collections
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Experience verbally explaining reports, dashboards, or analytics to senior management and external clients
