Compliance Analyst
Job Description:
The Compliance Analyst will report to the Compliance Manager and ensure compliance by the Company, its subsidiaries, and its vendors with applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies and procedures. The role requires a working knowledge of consumer financial protection laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Review and test operational functions for adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures
Monitor and review verbal, written and electronic communications
Monitor and review transactions in connection with consumer loan servicing and debt collection
Analyze exceptions and make recommendations to enhance internal controls and/or improve efficiencies
Effectively communicate testing results to management
Assess compliance with consumer financial laws and regulations
Contribute to special projects as assigned.
Review existing and proposed legislation and regulations, regulatory announcements, and industry periodicals to assess applicability and impact to Company
Create clear and accurate written reports summarizing testing findings
Work closely with colleagues to provide continuous improvement strategies and measurements
Review and draft regulatory complaint responses
Other duties as assigned
Education & Other Minimum Requirements
High school diploma
2+ years of compliance experience in consumer lending, loan servicing, debt collection, or other consumer financial services
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize work when demands change
Impeccable attention to detail
Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage small projects
Collaborative team player
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Bonus points if you have:
Post-secondary degree
Working knowledge of loan servicing and debt collection laws and regulation
Strong understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Regulation F
